Less than nine months ago, Washington and Michigan met with a national championship on the line in a traditional matchup between the Pac-12 and Big Ten that evoked the history of those two conferences.

It’s a rematch of last year’s national championship game that Michigan won 34-13, but a whole lot has changed in the nine months since. Both head coaches are gone, as Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh left for the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers while Alabama hired Kalen DeBoer away from Washington.
