Sky-gazers were out in force Wednesday to view the annular solar eclipse. If eclipse fever has set in, here’s what’s in store in the coming years, according to NASA.

The eclipse path traversed regions over the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, as well as the remote island of Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island. The ring of fire was visible in parts of South America, specifically over Rapa Nui, as well as in parts of Argentina and Chile.

It'll be about six months before skywatchers are treated to another solar eclipse — during which only part of the sun will be obscured from view.

If snapshots of the dazzling “ring of fire” that danced across the skies of South America on Wednesday sparked eclipse fever, sky-gazers won’t have to wait too long for additional celestial spectacles in store for next year.

On Saturday, March 29 — just 178 days from today — a partial solar eclipse will be visible from parts of the U.S. and Canada, as well as from northern South America, Europe, northern Asia, and northern Africa.
