Meta plans to produce its latest mixed reality headsets in Vietnam starting next year, as part of efforts to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia.

Facebook parent Meta will produce its next-generation virtual and augmented reality headsets in Vietnam, creating more than 1,000 jobs, the company said.

Manufacturing of the Quest 3S will create 1,000 jobs, Meta said Tuesday, marking another key electronics contract for a supply-chain hub that already makes Apple iPads and Dell laptops. The tech giant added it's helping create an AI class at a Vietnamese college.
